Hampshire Police Authority Vice Chair Adrian Collett supported the successful crime crackdown

Hampshire Police ran an extremely successful campaign last year focusing on burglary even more than ever before.

As a result, burglaries fell by 10% and detection increased by 27%.

Lib Dem County Councillor Adrian Collett, who is the Vice Chair of Hampshire Police Authority, said: "Burglary is one of the nastiest crimes ever to hit people. Those who are burgled suffer not only the loss of their property, but also the trauma of having their homes violated."

"Well done to Hampshire Police for running this highly effective campaign!"

Following that success Hampshire Police ran another campaign during the summer to tackle anti-social behaviour. This too aimed to prevent the problems wherever possible, but additionally aimed to catch the perpetrators where anti-social behaviour persisted. Early signs are this has been a similar success.

Adrian Collett says: "Both these campaigns are great examples of what the Police can achieve. Keep up the good work!"
